Customer Care

At Olde Towne Veterinary Clinic, we emphasize quality vs. quantity.  That’s because individual, personal care benefits both you and your pets. We widely space out all our appointments to assure you receive top quality service and to eliminate long wait times.  We also offer a convenient drop-off service, so you don’t have to miss work or other important commitments while your pet is being cared for.  Simply drop your pet off in the morning and pick up at the end of the day.  The doctor will be in touch regarding your pet’s treatment and condition.

Wellness & Preventative Care

Comprehensive preventative care begins with the yearly wellness exam, which includes the following:

  • A complete physical examination- including evaluation of your pets’ vital organs, muscles, joints, skin, sight, hearing and dental health.

  • Yearly bloodwork

  • Recommended laboratory profiles based on your pet’s age, environment, and activities.

  • A prescribed health & wellness program designed to fit your pet’s needs and your budget

  • We offer a variety of maintenance and prescription diets for our patients- including Hill’s, Purina, and Royal Canin brands. We also prescribe heartworm and flea control products.

Pet Pharmacy

Time is of the essence when your pet is sick!  Sometimes you need medicine right away…

Olde Towne Vet Clinic has an extensive on-site pharmacy for just such cases.  If we don’t have the prescription you need, we can order it for you or refill the prescription when you need it.

Restorative & Prophylactic Dentistry

Pets need dental care too!

We have state-of-the-art dental services, including digital radiology, routine/prophylactic care, and advanced/restorative treatments. Utilizing the latest dental technology helps us make your pets feel their best.  Digital radiology can often eliminate needless extractions or, in many cases, find hidden, painful teeth only radiographs can detect.

Digital Radiology

Radiology is a wonderful diagnostic tool, which gives us plenty of information about “unseen conditions” which could be affecting your pet’s health.

OTVC has in-house digital radiology which allows us to have the highest quality image instantly. It is non-invasive for pets and can lead to the early, successful treatment of a number of diseases, even saving lives!

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is another form of non-invasive imaging which allows us to check your pet’s vital organs and ensure everything is in perfect working order!
Ultrasounds can detect tumors, obstructions, pregnancies, and more.

On Site Laboratory

In-house diagnostics, combined with our digital radiology and ultrasound technologies, allow us to diagnose and treat complex medical and emergency conditions such as:

  • Kidney and heart diseases

  • Metabolic diseases such as Diabetes and Cushing’s disease

  • Hyper and hypothyroidism

  • As well as a variety of other conditions

Food Therapy Consults

Laser therapy is a noninvasive treatment designed to reduce pain and inflammation, and to speed healing. This treatment is quickly becoming standard of care in both human and veterinary medicine. Our staff members administer laser therapy via a handpiece that emits this therapeutic infrared light in a fast, drug-free, and soothing treatment. The light can treat surface problems such as wounds, as well as deeper structures, penetrating through fur, skin, and fat if necessary to reach damaged tissue.

The therapeutic infrared light targets the mitochondria in damaged cells and stimulates them to regenerate and stimulates them to return to optimal function. This regenerative process is called photobiomodulation (PBM). PBM does not impact normal cells, but can help damaged cells to recover from injury faster.

Laser therapy treatments are fast and pain-free, making them well-tolerated by most pets. There is no clipping or shaving required for the treatment area. When your pet arrives for therapy they will be situated in a comfortable position, and may be outfitted with laser-safe doggles. You will also receive laser-safe eyewear to wear during treatment if you remain with your pet during therapy.

Treatments take approximately 5 - 10 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area and the condition being treated. During this treatment your pet will experience a soothing warmth that often relaxes patients, and sometimes makes them go to sleep!

Some conditions require several treatment sessions for optimal outcomes. When your pet’s condition is evaluated your veterinarian will discuss their recommendations with you.

Laser therapy can be utilized as an adjunct to existing treatments, often reducing or replacing the need for pain medications.

Laser therapy is an effective treatment for a wide variety of conditions including:

  • Wounds

  • Arthritis

  • Skin Conditions

  • Pain & Inflammation

  • Pain Relief

  • Post-Operative Recovery

  • Rehabilitation

  • Geriatric Care

  • Lick Granulomas

  • Otitis

  • Dental Conditions

  • Fractures

  • Abdominal Disorders

  • And Much More!

Acupuncture has been used for hundreds of years on people and animals. It is a safe alternative therapy that helps manage a variety of medical issues. Acupuncture has been used to treat arthritis, neurological conditions, stimulate appetite, assist with cancer treatments, and help with anxiety in dogs, cats, and horses. Each session takes between 15-20 minutes. There are three forms of acupucnture: dry needles, aquapuncture (commonly use vitamin B12, serum, or saline), and electroacupuncture which is similar to a tens unit. We will tailor treatment that best fits your pet. Treatments include single use, sterile, stainless steel needles that are placed into various acupuncture points to help release fascial tension, activate Qi or blood, and move stagnation. Acupuncture has its best result with cummulative treatments and is very safe to use in combination with western medicine. Most animals will respond to acupuncture but there is a small percentage who will not. Most pets have a little soreness or are tired after their sessions. We are happy to offer this integrative medicine option for your dogs

Cryosurgery is a surgical technique that utilizes liquid nitrogen or nitrous oxide to freeze unwanted tissue. It is safe and effective for small growths. It causes the tissue, which is frozen, to fall off or dissolve. Cryosurgery usually requires heavy sedation and sometimes, general anesthesia and there is very minimal post-procedure discomfort.

We know many of our pet parents are interested in home cooked diets or adding additional nutrition to their beloved pet’s food. We support that whole heartedly and want to make sure your pet is eating a complete and balanced nutritious diet. Dr. Conrad is certified as a Chinese Medical Food Therapist who can help you design diets that fit both you and your pet. If your pets’ needs are outside of her comfort zone, she will make sure you have all the information and referrals you need to get in contact with a board-certified veterinary nutritionist to best design a diet for your pets’ specific needs.
